Aviagen announces investment of R$ 250 million to increase sow production

Aviagen, a poultry genetics company, announced an investment round of BRL 250 million to increase breeder production capacity in Brazil.

With the money in hand, the company wants to expand investments to a total of R$ 510 million reais in the last five years, which also adds 4 million sows a year to the current production capacity.

Named “Expansion Project 4”, the contribution foresees the construction of a farm, in the State of São Paulo, for the production of matrices, in addition to the expansion of hatcheries in Carambeí in Paraná and Rio Claro in São Paulo.

Aviagen will also carry out a renovation of the company's feed plant in Itaí São Paulo, to increase productivity, storage capacity and service to all new units.

In addition to the focus on expanding poultry farming, the company guaranteed that it also invests in research and genetic development, “in order to deliver more sustainable and resistant animals”.
