The Brazil may export a record volume of corn in August, if the most optimistic projections are confirmed, pointed out this Tuesday the Anec, which raised its expectations in a weekly report.
Anec now projects corn exports between 7.2 million and 8.089 million tons of corn in August, the highest point in the range would be an all-time high, surpassing the August 2019 mark of 7.67 million tons, according to association data.
Until last week, the National Association of Cereal Exporters projected exports in August between 7.2 million and 7.88 million tons.
If the association's current most optimistic projection is confirmed, cereal exports would increase by 3.9 million tons compared to the same month in 2021.
According to the National Association of Cereal Exporters, a record harvest contributes to the good volumes exported from Brazil, August is usually one of the strongest months for Brazilian shipments of the cereal, after much of the soybeans have already been sold.
Soybean exports from Brazil are expected to reach up to 5.7 million tons in August, little change from last week's forecast, and practically stable compared to the total shipped in 2021.
The export of soybean meal from Brazil should reach 1.957 million tons in August, also almost stable compared to the previous projection, but an increase of almost 700 thousand tons compared to 2021.
